Reclaimed Raw Materials

When we dismantle a barn or log house, in addition to the timbers we usually are able to salvage a limited amount of siding, flooring, framing lumber, and stone. Much of this is used within our own line of products, but we also sell reclaimed materials to architects, builders and homeowners for residential and commercial projects. The mission of the Mount Vernon Barn Company is to save and repurpose one hundred 19th century Ohio barns and log houses so that they may be enjoyed by future generations and so that we might remember the great age of barns and the men and women who built them. Although the virgin forests of the Eastern United States are forever gone, we feel that with each and every project we are preserving a piece of them.

The mission of Mount Vernon Millworks is to provide an opportunity for local woodworkers to utilize locally-sourced wood to produce high quality distinctive cabinetry and furniture. We use reclaimed, zero carbon footprint wood in many of our projects and minimize the consumption of fossil fuel in the manufacture and delivery of our product.
