Star Barn

The Star Barn is a circa 1840 hand hewn, oak timber frame with interesting framing features, including double tie beams and unusual bracing above the threshing floor doors.  This barn has been converted to 5-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath country home.  Custom kitchen was designed and handcrafted by Mt Vernon Millworks.  Walls are vintage barn siding.

The mission of the Mount Vernon Barn Company is to save and repurpose one hundred 19th century Ohio barns and log houses so that they may be enjoyed by future generations and so that we might remember the great age of barns and the men and women who built them. Although the virgin forests of the Eastern United States are forever gone, we feel that with each and every project we are preserving a piece of them.

The mission of Mount Vernon Millworks is to provide an opportunity for local woodworkers to utilize locally-sourced wood to produce high quality distinctive cabinetry and furniture. We use reclaimed, zero carbon footprint wood in many of our projects and minimize the consumption of fossil fuel in the manufacture and delivery of our product.
